Job Highlights
About the Role
Operates various power-driven machinery used to move dirt or other materials. May operate all or some of the following types of equipment: backhoe, bulldozer, crane, dragline, front‑end loader, cherry picker, dump truck, etc. Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required. • Set up and operate production equipment according to established guidelines and procedures. • Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner. • Move hand and foot levers to control diesel, electric, gasoline, or steam‑powered equipment. • Interpret hand signals to determine material placement. • Manipulate equipment on unlevel working surfaces when required. • Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials and work pieces during installation. • Perform routine maintenance or repairs as needed. • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. • Observe load hook‑up and determine safety of the load. • Manipulate crane controls to regulate speed and direction according to instructions. • Clean and maintain crane and hoisting mechanisms. • Inspect crane for defective parts, document findings, and notify the supervisor. • Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies. • Perform minor maintenance or cleaning activities on tools and equipment. • Interpret load charts when required.

What You Bring
May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly‑used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre‑established guidelines to perform the functions of the job and works under immediate supervision, reporting to a supervisor or manager. Physical requirements include standing, walking, and sitting for most of the shift, lifting and carrying up to 10 lb, and pushing or pulling up to 50 ft‑lb. Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, and fingering are also required, with frequencies indicated by symbols.
