About the Role
We are seeking a Compliance, Certification and Approvals Engineer who will ensure products meet regulatory, safety and environmental standards required for CE marking and other international certifications. The role manages compliance throughout design, development and product lifecycle, interpreting EU directives, coordinating testing, and maintaining technical documentation. • Lead CE marking for new and existing products, preparing technical files and declarations of conformity. • Interpret and apply EU/UK directives and harmonised standards (e.g., Machinery, RoHS, LVD, EMC, RED). • Conduct product risk assessments and guide design teams on corrective actions. • Coordinate third‑party testing and certification with notified bodies and accredited labs. • Maintain and review technical documentation and compliance records. • Support global market approvals (UL, FCC, CSA, UKCA, etc.). • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to embed compliance across the product lifecycle. • Track regulatory updates and communicate impacts to stakeholders. • Provide compliance training and guidance to cross‑functional teams. • Assist internal and external audits and ensure audit‑ready documentation. • Drive continuous improvement of compliance and certification processes.

Our people are motivated to make a positive impact on a brighter future, collaborating across technologies, industries, and an intentional workplace environment. • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, electronics or related engineering. • 3–7 years experience in product compliance, certification or approvals engineering. • Strong knowledge of CE marking, EU directives and conformity assessment procedures. • Experience with compliance testing, documentation control and liaison with notified bodies. • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ISO 14001 and relevant product safety standards (EN, IEC, UL). • Experience in marine, defence or industrial equipment certification is a plus. • Excellent project management, analytical and communication skills with strong attention to detail. • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet certification deadlines and coordinate stakeholders.
