About the Role
The Manager, Product Engineering leads, develops, and manages a multidisciplinary engineering team to design, improve, launch, and support HVAC‑based product lines. The role blends product leadership, engineering execution, operational strategy, and cross‑functional collaboration to drive innovation, performance, manufacturability, customer satisfaction, and profitability. Responsibilities include leading and mentoring product engineers, directing development from concept through launch and lifecycle support, and establishing engineering processes, documentation standards, and quality benchmarks. The manager aligns engineering output with business goals, cost targets, compliance, and product roadmap decisions while guiding research, modeling, heat‑transfer analysis, mechanical design, testing, and certification. Collaboration with manufacturing teams enhances design‑for‑build efficiency and resolves factory issues; the manager ensures accurate BOMs, drawings, and engineering data for production release and works cross‑functionally with sales, marketing, and leadership to support product strategy and pricing inputs. What You Bring
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (MS preferred), 10+ years of HVAC engineering experience, and 3‑5 years of refrigeration and hydronic piping design experience; prior leadership or engineering management experience is required. Candidates should be proficient in 3D modeling (Inventor), BOM development, thermodynamics, refrigeration cycles, and possess strong communication, analytical decision‑making, and project‑management abilities. Preferred skills are CFD/FEA simulation, knowledge of electromechanical controls, motors, VFDs, PLCs, sensors, and experience in field testing, product validation, and lab data interpretation, combined with business acumen, P&L awareness, and a cost‑reduction mindset. The office‑based role includes routine production‑floor presence and occasional travel to test labs or field sites.
