About the Role

The Facility Manager leads and manages the facilities organization for a specific location, set of buildings, or campus, implementing policies, procedures, programs and workplace services to ensure well‑managed and well‑maintained buildings while responding positively to tenant concerns, environmental health and safety, and quality programs aligned with client goals. The role interacts externally with clients, client staff and vendors, and internally with the Assistant or Chief Engineer and other Cushman & Wakefield colleagues, coordinating activities, finances, vendors and manpower for current and future building operations. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include overseeing custodial, life‑safety, engineering, landscaping, snow removal, pest control, water treatment and general maintenance services, supervising a technical and administrative team, managing vendor contracts, utilizing CMMS and other platforms for work orders and asset tracking, and ensuring compliance with regulations, safety standards and client service level agreements. • Lead daily operations of assigned facilities or campus, delivering best‑in‑class custodial, life safety, engineering, landscaping, snow removal, pest control, water treatment, and maintenance services. • Ensure service delivery aligns with client expectations, Cushman & Wakefield policies and regulatory requirements. • Supervise and develop a cohesive technical and administrative team, providing hiring, coaching, performance management and motivation. • Maintain a strong field presence to support operational excellence and team engagement. • Oversee vendor and contractor relationships: scope development, quote review, purchase orders, scheduling, on‑site supervision and performance validation. • Review contracts regularly, conduct competitive bids as needed, and verify invoicing complies with contract terms. • Utilize CMMS and other platforms to manage work orders, preventive maintenance, asset tracking and to extract data for staffing, capital planning and maintenance strategies. • Prepare and manage operating and capital budgets, forecasts and financial reports, ensuring compliance with financial controls and performance targets. • Promote a safety culture by providing training, resources and leadership to meet or exceed environmental health and safety standards. • Ensure preventive maintenance, change management and contingency planning support 100 % equipment uptime. • Apply problem‑solving and analytical thinking to resolve facility issues and optimize operations. • Execute strategic planning and execution for long‑term capital plans and cost‑reduction initiatives. • Interpret construction specifications and architectural blueprints; manage contracts and agreements.

What You Bring

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in facilities management, business administration, engineering or a related field (associate’s degree minimum), 5‑7 years of facilities or property management experience, at least three years of supervisory experience, strong knowledge of construction, vendor management and financial oversight, and proficiency with CMMS, BMS and preferably Yardi. Physical demands include frequent lifting of up to 50 lb, climbing, crouching, prolonged standing, travel between properties and the ability to work in loud, extreme temperature or hazardous environments while wearing personal protective equipment; schedules may involve standard business hours, on‑call, overtime, shift work and weekend duties. • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with tenants, clients and internal stakeholders. • Hold an associate’s degree minimum in facilities management, building operations, business or related discipline; bachelor’s degree preferred. • Possess 3–5 years of commercial or industrial real‑estate facility management experience, with demonstrated expertise in maintenance, construction, engineering and property operations. • Have 3+ years of supervisory experience in a facilities setting. • Hold industry certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM), IFMA, BOMA, LEED O&M or similar preferred. • Demonstrate proficiency with CMMS, work order management systems and building management systems (BMS); Yardi experience a plus. • Exhibit advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong financial acumen for budgeting, forecasting and tracking. • Meet physical requirements: lift ≥50 lb, climb, crouch, stand for long periods, wear PPE, and travel between sites in varying weather conditions. • Work typical business hours but be available for on‑call, shift, overtime or weekend duties as client needs dictate. • Satisfy employment conditions: legal documentation, drug testing, background check, clean DMV record, education verification and references.

Benefits

Compensation ranges from $93,500 to $110,000, with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, vision, dental, retirement, life and disability insurance, and the company is an equal‑opportunity employer committed to diversity and compliance with all applicable laws.
