About the Role
The role emphasizes safety while handling both energized and de‑energized overhead work, coaching crew members, and leading hot‑stick operations. Responsibilities include conducting pre‑job briefings, stringing wire, setting poles, installing transformers and related equipment, troubleshooting primary and secondary systems, and maintaining company vehicles and tools. • Perform new construction, maintenance, and repair of energized and de‑energized overhead distribution systems. • Coach, train, and supervise lower‑skilled crew members in safe work practices and hot‑stick procedures. • Conduct pre‑job and tailgate briefings and plan work based on job prints or work orders. • String overhead wire, set poles and anchors, and install transformers, arresters, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear. • Troubleshoot primary and secondary systems, replace cutout fuses, and clear faulted circuits. • Safely operate high‑voltage equipment, including phasing sticks, load‑bust tools, mechanical jumpers, and reconductoring tasks. • Identify and set up pullers, tensioners, and ensure proper sagging of wire. • Implement grounding procedures, install/remove PPE, and follow flag‑and‑tag protocols. • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order. • Complete required paperwork, reports, and adhere to company safety policies.

What You Bring
The Foreman position involves skilled construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical overhead distribution systems. Work is performed at various sites and may require travel to other states depending on customer demands. Candidates must have at least five years of recent field experience, a valid CDL, and the ability to lift more than 50 lb. They should be able to read and communicate effectively in English, travel on short notice, work extended periods in various locations, and complete required paperwork while complying with safety procedures. The work environment exposes employees to fumes, noise, vibration, and extreme weather conditions, requiring regular standing, walking, and manual dexterity. Competencies include being self‑motivated, team‑oriented, and customer‑focused, with strict adherence to company safety rules and policies. • Minimum five years of recent field experience with overhead distribution systems. • Valid CDL with a safe driving record. • Ability to lift over 50 lb and perform rigorous physical labor, including climbing structures and working at heights or in confined spaces. • Proficient in reading and communicating in English; able to interpret job prints and work orders. • Willingness to travel long distances on short notice and work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed. • Knowledge of induced voltage, grounding, line protection devices, and safe operation of high‑voltage tools.
