CDL Truck Driver - Roll Off

About the Role

Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end load lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable material to disposal, transfer or recycling facilities when trucks reach legal load capacity. Commercial drivers provide pick‑up service for containers that can exceed 1,000 lb, often needing precise backing maneuvers in high‑traffic roadways, driveways, alleyways and lot environments. Residential drivers collect household waste and must safely navigate residential settings, while roll‑off drivers prepare, load and transport large open‑top or compactor containers, sometimes working in tight overhead industrial routes. Key responsibilities include operating the vehicle in compliance with WM safety policies, OSHA and DOT regulations, performing pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, reporting unsafe conditions or service issues, attending scheduled trainings, and working with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency. Drivers must communicate customer requests, ensure receptacles are fully emptied and the site is left clean, follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day documentation, and assist fellow drivers as needed. • Operate vehicle following WM safety policies, OSHA, DOT and all applicable laws. • Complete pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and submit DVIR reports. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents and service interruptions to manager or dispatch. • Attend required trainings, briefings and meetings. • Collaborate with Operations Manager to improve route efficiency and share best practices. • Communicate customer requests and ensure receptacles are fully emptied and the site is left clean. • Follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day paperwork and assist fellow drivers as needed.

What You Bring

Required qualifications are a valid Class A or Class B CDL with air‑brake endorsement (or equivalent military driving experience within the last seven years), at least one year of commercial driving experience, a minimum age of 18 and legal eligibility to work in the United States. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The role demands physical capabilities such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking and hearing throughout the shift, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities. • Hold a valid Class A or Class B CDL with air‑brake endorsement (or recent military driving experience). • Possess at least one year of commercial driving experience, be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the U.S. • Demonstrate physical ability to stand, walk, lift, push, pull, crouch, reach, handle, sit, talk and hear throughout the shift.
