About the Role
The Driver‑CDL (B) operates a collection truck safely and efficiently, delivering prompt and courteous waste removal services. The role includes ensuring the vehicle meets company safety standards, adhering to all state and federal regulations, and completing daily vehicle condition reports to address any defects promptly. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections, checking tires, fluids, safety equipment, gauges, and controls. • Report safety issues using standard reports and complete daily vehicle condition reports. • Operate the collection truck on assigned routes, reading route sheets, following maps, and servicing each customer. • Use manual or automatic controls to lift, load, compact waste and dispose of material at the designated facility. • Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and coworkers to ensure timely, professional service. • Identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers according to departmental procedures. • Monitor waste for prohibited materials and clean accidental spills following safety standards. • Keep the vehicle operationally ready, cleaning the packer blade and truck body on each disposal run. • Complete required route, productivity, and VCR documentation accurately and on time. • Adhere to productivity standards and all safety policies, participating in the ReSOP program. • Maintain strong customer service, time‑management, and follow‑through skills while upholding company policies.
