Project Manager I

About the Role

• Manage overall financial health of projects. • Support and lead EPC contract negotiations, including technical exhibits and schedules. • Lead vendor procurement and bid/award phases for major subs and suppliers. • Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections. • Allocate project estimates into financial system, determine cost codes, and approve invoices. • Provide financials and billings to accounting; create monthly owner billings. • Manage subcontracts and suppliers; oversee budget and selection of trade partners. • Handle billings, contract management, and change orders. • Manage and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers; approve timecards and provide feedback.

Mortenson reserves the right to hire any individual without legal or financial obligation on unwanted solicitations, and agency emails, calls, or solicitations are not accepted without a valid agreement. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience. • Minimum six years of related experience. • Proven ability to handle complex project responsibilities. • Strong detail orientation to organize and manage multiple tasks. • Basic understanding of construction law and standard business practices. • Preferred experience in commercial construction, renewable energy project development, EPC contracting, or emerging technologies. • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, project, and web applications. • Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills. • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies. • Valid driver’s license.

Benefits

The base pay range for this role is $113,500 – $170,300, with higher ranges for specific locations (e.g., Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, Washington, D.C.). Compensation is positioned based on knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity, and the position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
