About the Role
You will lead transformative communications and engagement programs for major capital projects, operational permitting, and ESG initiatives. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will guide clients through stakeholder engagement, public consultation, and social risk management, while driving digital engagement innovation and contributing to ERM’s business development. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing communication strategies, leading stakeholder engagement programs, and overseeing social risk and community assessment reporting. You will also manage project teams and budgets, create compelling content, monitor stakeholder communications, facilitate focus groups and public events, drive business development, and coordinate subcontractor activities. • Craft and launch integrated communication plans for capital projects, permitting processes, and ESG programs. • Direct stakeholder engagement initiatives, including public consultations, community outreach, and advisory group facilitation. • Oversee project teams, control budgets, and act as a strategic counsel for clients. • Generate and refine content such as fact sheets, newsletters, web copy, and social‑risk assessment reports. • Track and evaluate stakeholder feedback, delivering actionable insights to clients. • Pursue new business opportunities through proposal development, industry networking, and client relationship building. • Align subcontractor efforts with project objectives and timelines.

What You Bring
Are you a seasoned communications strategist ready to influence how organizations engage with communities, stakeholders, and the public? The position requires a BA/BS in Communications, Public Affairs, Journalism or a related field, and 4‑6+ years of experience in strategic communications, public affairs or consulting; energy‑sector experience is a plus. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to lead complex projects, manage budgets, deliver high‑quality outcomes, and communicate confidently with diverse audiences. Travel of approximately 4–6 weeks per year and a hybrid office/home work setting are expected, and the role is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. Preferred qualifications include experience with crisis management, ESG communications, and familiarity with stakeholder engagement tools, digital platforms, and innovative outreach strategies. These skills enhance the ability to respond rapidly to emerging issues and to leverage technology for effective engagement. • Possess a bachelor's degree in communications, public affairs, journalism or a related discipline. • Bring 4‑6+ years of experience in strategic communications, public affairs or consulting, preferably within the energy sector. • Exhibit strong written and oral communication, facilitation, and organizational abilities. • Be prepared to travel roughly 4–6 weeks annually and operate in a hybrid office/home environment. • Advantageous experience includes crisis management, ESG messaging, and use of digital stakeholder engagement platforms.

Benefits
The annual base salary ranges from $86,700 to $102,486, with eligibility for bonus pay for most employees. ERM offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, parental leave, medical, dental, vision, life, disability and AD&D insurance, as well as retirement savings plans such as 401(k) or RRSP/DPSP. • Compensation includes a base salary of $86,700–$102,486, potential bonus eligibility, and a full benefits suite covering PTO, parental leave, health, dental, vision, life/disability insurance, and retirement plans.
