About the Role
The role is responsible for staying current with ANZ national grid technical requirements, challenges, and National Electricity rules that affect new customer power connections. The incumbent must provide regular updates to management on upcoming technology and rule changes, identify gaps, and perform risk‑versus‑opportunity analyses. They will assess and advise on the impact of emerging technologies such as data centres, HVDC, BESS, and EV‑infrastructure integration. Participation in pre‑sales processes to understand customer business objectives, technical goals, and project requirements is required. Understanding customer pain points and actively engaging to deliver solutions forms a core part of the job. • Monitor ANZ national grid technical requirements and National Electricity rules for new customer connections. • Deliver regular management updates on technology and rule changes, gap analyses, and risk‑vs‑opportunity assessments. • Evaluate impacts of emerging technologies such as data centres, HVDC, BESS, and EV infrastructure. • Support pre‑sales activities by understanding customer business objectives and project needs. • Identify customer pain points and propose tailored solutions. • Collaborate with product, sales, and partner teams to develop technical and commercial proposals.

What You Bring
Collaboration with product management, commercial sales teams, and external partners is essential to engage customers, apply solutions, and produce technical and commercial proposal content. Candidates should have at least three years of experience in the utility or energy sector, preferably working with AEMO or NSP on grid‑connection inquiries. A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, strong leadership and relationship‑management skills, and high‑level familiarity with power‑system modelling software (e.g., PSCAD, PSS E) are required, although hands‑on modelling is not essential. • Minimum 3 years experience in utility or energy sector, preferably with AEMO/NSP grid‑connection work. • High‑level familiarity with power system modelling tools (e.g., PSCAD, PSS/E); hands‑on modelling not required. • Demonstrated leadership, relationship management, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
