About the Role

The Senior Transportation Project Manager position is based in Meridian, Idaho, and is responsible for leading mid‑ to large‑scale transportation projects from inception through completion. The role requires technical expertise, client interaction, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful delivery. Key duties include managing project lifecycles, providing specialized technical input for studies and designs, producing and reviewing technical proposals, estimating budgets and schedules, and maintaining quality control. The manager also mentors junior staff, stays current with industry trends, and ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations. • Lead and manage mid‑ to large‑size transportation projects through all lifecycle phases. • Provide technical expertise for transportation studies, designs, and complex solutions. • Develop and present technical proposals and client presentations. • Perform quality‑control reviews to ensure adherence to industry standards. • Estimate engineering budgets and schedules, optimizing resource allocation. • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to achieve high‑quality outcomes. • Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a growth‑oriented environment. • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. • Coordinate with government agencies, stakeholders, and the public for approvals. • Implement risk‑management strategies to mitigate project issues. • Analyze traffic patterns, capacity needs, and safety considerations for design. • Oversee preparation of detailed drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a BS in Civil Engineering or a related field with at least ten years of relevant experience, including eight years in transportation engineering and project management. Professional Engineer licensure in Idaho (or the ability to obtain it within a year) and proficiency with OpenRoads, MicroStation, and InRoads are required; a master’s degree is preferred. • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (master’s preferred) and 10+ years experience. • Minimum 8 years transportation engineering and project management experience. • Proven track record delivering complex roadway/highway projects. • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Idaho or ability to obtain within one year. • Proficiency with OpenRoads, MicroStation, and InRoads design software. • Strong knowledge of transportation industry standards, regulations, and best practices. • Ability to adapt to new technologies and innovative engineering approaches.
