Custodian - Self Storage Facilities

About the Role

As a Property Care Specialist you will maintain the cleanliness and brand standards of multiple storage facilities, both inside and outside. You will serve as a custodian, ensuring a safe and attractive environment for customers. Responsibilities include independent cleaning, minor maintenance, unit inspections, and reporting any issues to management. You may also move merchandise, furniture, and equipment as needed while adhering to shift schedules and safety policies. • Clean interior spaces (mopping, sweeping) and maintain exterior grounds. • Perform minor repairs: replace bulbs, fix plumbing leaks, paint touch‑ups. • Inspect and prep vacant storage units and kiosks for rental. • Dispose of debris and abandoned items per instructions. • Maintain restrooms and conduct general janitorial work. • Relocate merchandise, furniture, and equipment as required. • Report safety issues, maintenance needs, and equipment failures to management. • Lift/move items up to 35 lb and spend up to 50 % of shift outdoors. • Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in all weather conditions.

What You Bring

The role requires lifting or moving items up to 35 pounds, walking outdoors for up to half of the workday, climbing stairs, and opening large doors. You must be able to work in various weather conditions and travel between locations using your own vehicle. Ideal candidates have prior custodial or similar experience, enjoy independent or small‑team work, and possess strong organizational and communication skills. A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, are required.
