The role requires a strategic mindset and passion for leading large transportation and transit planning projects, including commuter rail, Bus Rapid Transit, light rail, and fixed and on‑demand services. The planner will collaborate with municipalities, regional entities, transit agencies, and the public, and will contribute to marketing, management, and production of plans such as active transportation, corridor studies, safety studies, transit, and circulation plans. Tasks include short‑ and long‑range planning, overseeing outreach, technical analysis, and multidisciplinary coordination, demanding strong communication and organizational skills. A bachelor's or master’s degree in civil engineering, city or urban planning, or a related field is required, along with 4+ years of transportation‑focused planning experience. Experience should include areas such as corridor planning, general or specific plans, short‑range transit plans, active transportation plans, multimodal concept design, transit operations analysis, and traffic and bicycle/pedestrian analysis. Candidates must be proficient in transportation data analysis, have strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills, be detail‑oriented, and able to balance multiple projects as a self‑motivated team player. • Bachelor’s or Master’s in civil engineering, city/urban planning, or related field • 4+ years of transportation planning experience • Experience in corridor planning, general/specific/precise plans, short‑range transit plans, active transportation plans, multimodal concept design, transit operations/performance analysis, and traffic/bicycle‑pedestrian analysis • Proficient in transportation data analysis • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills • Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to balance multiple projects • Self‑motivated team player with project management experience
