About the Role

As a technology systems designer, you will support design efforts on a wide range of projects, collaborating closely with senior and supervising consultants. Responsibilities include creating trade‑specific system layouts using CAD/BIM, performing calculations with appropriate software, and coordinating designs with architectural and engineering disciplines under senior guidance. Additional duties involve conducting field inspections, assisting senior team members with due diligence, feasibility studies, and gap analyses, and creating basic designs, equipment selections, and system calculations. You will be cross‑trained in multidisciplinary designs, maintain a basic understanding of network connectivity, LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi infrastructure, and LEED principles, and support new installations, retrofits, replacements, and upgrades. Ownership of completeness, accuracy, and timeliness, as well as assistance with project scheduling, budgeting, RFIs, change orders, and QA/QC processes, are also expected. • Design and layout AV/ICT systems using CAD/BIM for diverse facility types. • Perform system calculations, equipment selection, and develop specifications and narratives. • Conduct field inspections and assist with due diligence, feasibility, and gap analyses. • Coordinate designs with architects, MEP engineers, and other trade disciplines. • Support design for new installations, retrofits, replacements, and upgrades. • Manage project documentation, QA/QC processes, and ensure timely, accurate deliverables. • Assist senior staff with scheduling, resource allocation, budgeting, RFIs, and change orders.

Based in the New York office of the Information and Communication Technology Group, we are seeking a Technology Systems Designer with expertise in Audio Visual and a focus on aviation-related ICT experience. The role involves engineering system designs for diverse environments such as critical facilities, corporate interiors, sports and entertainment venues, healthcare, airports, and educational institutions across the country. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or Technology and possesses 3.5 to 7 years of relevant Audio Visual experience. Proficiency with MS Office 365, Adobe Bluebeam, and CAD/Revit is required, along with a basic grasp of LEED principles and the ability to obtain a PE license or relevant ICT certifications. • Utilize MS Office 365, Adobe Bluebeam, and CAD/Revit effectively. • Maintain basic knowledge of network, LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi infrastructure, and LEED principles. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or Technology with 3.5–7 years AV experience. • Possess or be able to obtain PE licensure or relevant ICT certifications.
