About the Role

In this role you will perform design engineering and provide system design support while collaborating closely with all MEP disciplines to ensure well‑coordinated designs. You will also consult and interface with clients, architects, vendors, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction, taking responsible charge of the projects you manage. • Perform design engineering and provide system design support across MEP disciplines. • Consult and interface with clients, architects, vendors, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction. • Establish design standards, prepare calculations, reports, and specifications. • Select fire suppression systems, prepare preliminary designs, and create performance specifications. • Conduct existing facility diligence, sustainability analyses, and feasibility studies. • Produce drawings that meet client requirements and company standards. • Lead project management responsibilities and ensure accountability. • Conduct business development activities as needed. • Participate in trade organizations and deliver presentations. • Establish project budgets and schedules. • Perform QA/QC reviews of staff work. • Mentor and train junior engineers. • Apply fire suppression system knowledge per NFPA 99 through training and project experience. • Maintain solid understanding of mechanical/plumbing trades, building codes, and documentation. • Select equipment from various manufacturers independently. • Perform fire suppression hydraulic calculations to support design and cost estimation. • Participate in a 401(k) plan with employer matching. • Work half‑day from home on Fridays year‑round.

What You Bring

The position calls for solid knowledge of systems design across various project types, the ability to communicate design concepts through sketches and renderings, and experience in critical facilities design. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience) and have at least eight years of plumbing design experience. Proficiency with the latest version of Revit, a working knowledge of fire‑suppression systems (NFPA 99), and deep understanding of mechanical/plumbing trades, building codes, and equipment selection are required. Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) certification is highly preferred. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience. • Possess minimum 8 years of plumbing design experience. • Demonstrate proficiency with the latest version of Revit. • Obtain Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) certification (highly preferred).
