About the Role
Plan, layout, install, and repair wiring, conduit, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment. • Prepare sketches or follow diagrams/blueprints to ensure concealed wiring is installed before walls, ceilings, and flooring are completed. • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using tools such as hacksaws, pipe threaders, rules, and conduit benders. • Pull wiring through conduit with assistance. • Splice wires by stripping insulation, twisting or soldering, and securing with tape or terminal caps. • Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment using hand tools. • Install control and distribution apparatus (switches, relays, circuit‑breaker panels) and fasten them with hand or power tools. • Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads. • Test circuit continuity for compatibility and safety using instruments like an ohmmeter, battery, buzzer, and oscilloscope. • Observe installed equipment to identify hazards, needed adjustments, relocation, or replacement. • Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment or systems. • Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies. • Maintain tools and equipment. • Follow procedures such as lockout/tagout (LOTO). • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. • Rate information using personal judgment or measurable standards. • Perform rapid and accurate arithmetic operations. • Visualize details in objects or drawings as three‑dimensional.
