About the Role

The Highway Engineer role is a technical position reporting to a Project Manager, responsible for the engineering development of urban and rural highway projects. The engineer will oversee CAD designers and possibly other EITs, prepare detailed roadway designs, and be involved from site feasibility analysis through final design and construction phases, while also handling some project‑management duties and client interactions. • Serve under a Project Manager on highway/roadway engineering projects. • Oversee work of CAD Designers and, when applicable, other EITs. • Prepare detailed engineering designs for urban and rural road projects. • Participate in activities from site feasibility analysis to final design and construction. • Assume project management responsibilities and interact with clients as needed.

What You Bring

• Minimum five years of experience in highway design, including interchanges and intersections. • Experience with traffic management, transportation planning, and site planning. • Proficiency in MicroStation, InRoads, Open Roads Designer, LDD, or comparable CAD software. • Hands‑on experience with Bentley ConceptStation, Open Roads Designer, Autodesk Infraworks, or Civil3D. • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a Professional Engineer (PE) license. • Strong communication, organizational, and MS Office skills. • Local candidates preferred and committed to the employee‑owned culture.
