About the Role

The OHE Lineman C assists the Journeyman Lineman and the Foreman while in training and learning the trade, performing work related to the construction and maintenance of poles, power lines, auxiliary facilities, and equipment for electricity transmission and distribution. This position supports and learns from the Lineman team and works with other departmental personnel. • Construct, maintain, and inspect transmission and distribution power lines. • Connect, disconnect, install, remove, and relocate electrical devices such as transformers, regulator banks, switches, and capacitor banks at customer facilities. • Route or reroute power lines over, under, or around existing structures and inspect or remove damaged lines. • Assist with pole setting, hole digging, and other pole‑related operations. • Perform line switching or sectionalizing as directed. • Investigate consumer complaints and repair energized distribution lines. • Provide backup for Class B Apprentice Lineman and complete required apprenticeship documentation. • Operate and maintain a bucket truck, including stocking and driving to job sites. • Troubleshoot electrical problems on customer equipment when needed.

What You Bring

The role operates in a field environment and routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 50 lb), standing, and twisting, often in inclement weather such as extreme heat, cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. Precise hand‑eye coordination, clear vision, and the ability to judge distance and identify colors are essential. • High school diploma or equivalent; at least 1 year of lineman experience. • Valid Class A CDL required; preferred 2+ years lineman experience and OSHA 10 certification.
