About the Role

The Pipefitter Helper assists in identifying necessary tools and safety risks, prepares, fabricates, installs, and fits pipe to specifications, and helps install valves, hangers, supports, and flanges as per plans. Additional duties include testing pipe quality, hoisting loads with rigging equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety precautions. • Identify tools needed for tasks • Identify safety risks and required precautions • Assist with preparation, fabrication, installation, and fitting of pipe to specifications • Assist with installation of valves, hangers, supports, and flanges per plans • Assist with testing to ensure pipe and system quality • Assist with hoisting loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and rigging equipment • Work at heights, climb ladders/stairways, occasional work from platforms/scaffolding with fall protection

What You Bring

This role requires at least two years of experience as an industrial Pipefitter Helper, reliable transportation, and the ability to meet the physical demands of industrial construction projects. Candidates must follow instructions, possess all required tools, and have experience on industrial construction sites. The position demands extensive standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting, with the ability to lift up to 50 lb and work at heights or on scaffolding using fall protection. Employees must operate in all weather conditions while wearing required PPE such as hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, respirator, hi‑vis vest, gloves, and steel‑toed boots. • 2+ years experience as an industrial Pipefitter Helper • Ability to follow instructions • Reliable transportation • Capable of meeting physical demands of the job • Experience on industrial construction projects • Possession of all required tools • Good problem‑solving abilities • Good manual dexterity and aptitude • Good reading comprehension • Team player with ability to work with others • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Effective communication with co‑workers and supervisors • Zachry ROF’ed employee (preferred) • Former Zachry employee (preferred) • Former industrial construction experience (preferred) • Formal or technical education (preferred) • Prolonged standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting • Lift/move up to 50 lb • Operate in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE • Required PPE includes hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi‑vis vest, leather gloves, and steel‑toed boots
