About the Role
The role involves providing field labor for habitat restoration tasks such as non‑native species control, native seed application, container‑plant installation, temporary irrigation, and erosion control. The crew member also backs up the Crew Leader, maintains facilities and equipment, holds a Qualified Applicator Certificate, and supports AECOM’s health‑and‑safety culture by following OSHA and company policies. • Perform field labor for habitat restoration, including non‑native species control, native seed application, container‑plant installation, temporary irrigation, and erosion control. • Serve as backup to the Crew Leader and assist on complex projects under guidance from the Field Director. • Maintain Annex (National City) and Clover Flat (Campo) facilities, including irrigation, climate control, and security systems. • Clean and maintain seed processing equipment and hold a Qualified Applicator Certificate. • Consult supervisors on unusual problems and adhere to AECOM health‑and‑safety policies and OSHA standards.

What You Bring
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least two years of native‑habitat field experience, and basic knowledge of restoration equipment, small power tools, herbicide application, native plant identification, and GPS use. A valid driver’s license with a clean record, the ability to pass background and drug screenings, and the physical capacity to lift up to 25 lb unassisted (or 50 lb with assistance) while wearing required personal protective equipment are also required. Preferred qualifications include experience with electronic data‑collection devices, CPR/First Aid certification, bilingual English/Spanish ability, and operation of specialized equipment such as bulldozers. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, leadership potential, and effective oral communication are valued. • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of native‑habitat fieldwork experience. • Demonstrate knowledge of restoration equipment, small power tools, herbicide application, native plant identification, and basic GPS use. • Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean record and pass background and drug screenings. • Meet physical requirements: lift/carry up to 25 lb unassisted (50 lb with assistance), perform repetitive bending, stooping, and wear required PPE. • Experience with electronic data collection devices and CPR/First Aid certification is preferred. • Bilingual English/Spanish ability and operation of specialized equipment such as bulldozers are advantageous. • Exhibit strong work ethic, attention to detail, leadership potential, and effective oral communication.
