About the Role

The manager will partner with the Technical Excellence Director, national technical leaders, and risk management to design a comprehensive management system for specifications and related resources. Responsibilities include establishing processes for tracking updates, reviewing client‑provided standards, and working with Business Technology to develop supporting tools. The role also involves performing quality reviews of project manuals, ensuring consistency in content and formatting, and generating action‑plan reports for leadership. Additionally, the manager will coordinate training on specifications for technical staff and maintain subscriptions to industry codes and standards alongside the Technical Resource Librarian. • Manage the 550+‑document Project Specifications library covering CSI divisions 00‑49. • Design and implement a system for tracking specification updates in partnership with technical and risk leadership. • Lead training programs on specifications and oversee the Technical Resource Librarian’s subscription services. • Conduct quality reviews of project manuals and produce improvement action plans for senior leadership. • Research, develop, and update standard specifications, ensuring compliance with federal, state and funding agency requirements.

What You Bring

A bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management is required, together with at least seven years of progressive experience in developing and applying technical specifications for client projects. Preferred candidates bring twelve or more years of relevant experience, professional licensure (PE, RA, or CCM), and the ability to obtain CSI’s Construction Document Technologist certification within a year. Familiarity with sustainability frameworks such as LEED or Envision and knowledge of EJCDC, DBIA, AIA, and CSI standards are also valued. • Minimum qualifications: BA in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management and 7+ years of specification‑focused experience. • Preferred qualifications: 12+ years experience, professional licensure (PE, RA, CCM) or CSI CDT certification within 12 months. • Experience with sustainability rubrics (LEED, Envision) and industry standards (EJCDC, DBIA, AIA, CSI). • Domestic travel may be required to fulfill job responsibilities.
