About the Role
• Develop and review engineering deliverables, including studies, drawings, calculations, and specifications for complex substation projects. • Assign tasks and provide technical direction to junior and mid‑level team members. • Perform quality control reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency across all deliverables. • Collaborate with senior engineers to build specialized expertise and stay current with industry practices. • Contribute to technical papers and presentations showcasing HDR’s capabilities. • Mentor, train, and supervise EITs and Designers as needed. • Support cross‑team QC reviews to maintain company and client standards. • Develop design specifications, studies, reports, and analysis related to substation design.

What You Bring
• Minimum of 8 years of substation design experience (indoor and outdoor). • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Previous consulting firm experience. • Proficient with electrical design software such as SKM PowerTools, ETAP, EasyPower, CDEGS, and WinIGS. • Experience developing technical standards. • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. • Professional engineering license (PE or P.Eng) recognized by the licensing board for the position location. • Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector. • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Power Market design software (e.g., PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit).
