About the Role
Lead the Team at Our Robertson Barracks Defence Clothing Store! This permanent full‑time role (Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–4:00 pm) offers a salary package up to $85,000. It is a rare leadership opportunity at Ventia’s Defence Clothing Store, ideal for a natural leader passionate about people, service excellence, and smooth operational delivery. You will guide a talented team of retail and seamstress professionals, shape the store’s success from day one, and ensure service meets Defence standards and Ventia’s commitment to excellence. As the Site Leader, you will drive store operations, lead a motivated team, and ensure exceptional service delivery. Responsibilities include overseeing performance, compliance, and financial success; mentoring staff; managing service delivery, solving problems promptly, and championing continuous improvement; building partnerships with Defence personnel, Ventia stakeholders and suppliers; supporting a culture of diversity, inclusion, customer focus and operational excellence; and upholding Ventia values while contributing to performance reviews and business improvement initiatives. • Oversee store operations, ensure compliance with Defence policy and financial performance • Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing retail and seamstress team • Manage service delivery, resolve issues promptly, and drive continuous improvement • Build strong partnerships with Defence personnel, Ventia stakeholders and suppliers • Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, customer focus and operational excellence • Uphold Ventia values and contribute to performance reviews and business improvement initiatives

What You Bring
You are a confident, people‑focused leader who thrives in a dynamic environment. Required are Australian citizenship for Defence clearance, prior supervisory experience, strong communication and stakeholder skills, a collaborative solutions‑focused approach, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities. Experience in logistics or Defence settings, performance management, reporting, solid IT, and strong written communication are also valued. • Australian citizenship required for Defence clearance • Proven experience supervising or leading a team • Excellent people and communication skills across multiple stakeholders • Collaborative, solutions‑focused mindset with strong organisational ability • Experience in logistics or Defence environments (highly regarded) • Experience in performance management and reporting • Strong written communication and solid IT skills
