About the Role

The Account Executive – Energy Solutions role sits within Johnson Controls’ Sustainable Infrastructure business. The position focuses on selling complex energy solutions, including performance contracts, to public‑sector clients at the executive level. The role supports the company’s mission to deliver smarter, more sustainable buildings. Reporting with general direction, the Account Executive is responsible for selling large, bundled offerings with outcome guarantees to C‑level and D‑level decision makers. Responsibilities include building and managing long‑term relationships with facility and finance personnel, ensuring customer satisfaction, and positioning renewable service agreements as the foundation of managed accounts. The incumbent will sell JCI solutions persuasively and confidently, prioritize performance contracting, and expand the depth of offerings within each account. Using sales tools such as Salesforce, account plans, and monthly checkpoints, the executive will qualify prospects, negotiate financial agreements, and drive the sales process to closure while leading internal support teams. • Sell large, complex energy solutions and performance contracts to C‑level and D‑level decision makers. • Build and maintain long‑term relationships with facility, finance and executive stakeholders. • Position and renew renewable service agreements, including multi‑year contracts. • Manage the full sales cycle using Salesforce, account plans, and monthly checkpoint reviews. • Qualify prospects, conduct trial closes, and negotiate financial agreements to secure deals. • Lead cross‑functional support teams (engineering, legal, financial) to deliver customer value. • Drive customer satisfaction by acting as the advocate and ensuring proper training and hand‑off. • Identify and target new customers based on vertical market strategies. • Represent Johnson Controls at trade shows and professional organizations.

What You Bring

Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or a related field (MBA preferred) and five to seven years of progressive field sales experience to the C‑level, preferably in energy‑solution performance contracts. Candidates must demonstrate strong initiative, communication and financial acumen, and be willing to travel up to 50 % of the time. • Meet travel requirement of up to 50 % of time.

Benefits
