About the Role

Based in Auckland, the Facilities Manager will manage and deliver top‑notch facilities maintenance services across diverse property types throughout the Pacific, with frequent travel to MFAT locations. The role involves ownership of the Pacific portfolio, close collaboration with the Downer team and Service Delivery Partners, and ensuring safe, efficient, high‑standard service delivery. You will build strong, trusting relationships with client representatives in the Pacific and Service Delivery Partners, engaging positively with customers and subcontractors to achieve collaborative outcomes. The position covers a broad scope, including governance and service delivery across various work types and technologies, development of local trade capabilities to support social outcomes, and provision of after‑hours on‑call support. It also involves championing business development and continuous improvement initiatives. Downer plans, creates and sustains essential public services across Australia and New Zealand, managing critical infrastructure such as hospitals, data centres and defence partnerships. • Foster a Zero Harm culture and ensure contract security compliance. • Engage positively with customers and manage subcontractor relationships for collaborative outcomes. • Oversee facilities maintenance delivery, monitoring KPIs, resource utilisation and financial performance. • Lead governance and service delivery across diverse work types, technologies and customers. • Develop local trade capabilities in the Pacific to support social outcomes and improve efficiency. • Provide after‑hours on‑call support. • Champion business development and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a Facilities Management qualification or equivalent experience, with 3‑5 years in technical, construction, facilities or asset management, and demonstrable skills in operational and financial aspects of facilities maintenance. Experience in the Pacific, trade capability development, and French language skills are advantageous, and the role requires National Security and Ministry of Justice clearances.
