Community Service Technician

About the Role

As a Community Service Technician, you will provide timely, high‑quality maintenance service to residents and the community, preserving asset value and integrity. The successful candidate manages time effectively, is detail‑oriented, trustworthy, and takes pride in their work while delivering excellent customer service to residents, associates, and vendors. You will be accountable for both routine and emergency tasks, work collaboratively with the team, and uphold Weidner’s mission, vision, values, and all relevant policies and fair‑housing regulations. • Prepare apartments for occupancy (painting, drywall repair, trash out, mechanical, plumbing, electrical work) • Respond to resident service requests promptly each day • Repair electrical, plumbing, boilers, water heaters, HVAC systems, and appliances • Perform carpentry, drywall, and interior/exterior painting tasks • Determine appropriate paint type, sheen, and color for full or touch‑up jobs • Clean pools, monitor chemical balance, and maintain required logs • Conduct daily grounds maintenance, including trash removal, pet waste cleanup, and walkway sweeping • Participate in scheduled property improvements and preventive maintenance • Participate in the on‑call rotation as scheduled • Ensure apartments, common areas, and amenities meet Weidner’s quality standards daily

What You Bring

Preferred certifications include HVAC, CPO, EPA, CAMT, and other industry designations; proficiency with Microsoft Office, Yardi, and Paycom is valued. A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass background and drug testing are required. • 1–2 years of maintenance experience with strong mechanical aptitude • Ability to lift 80 lb, carry up to 200 lb with a dolly, climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, pool, irrigation, and HVAC systems • Desired certifications: HVAC, CPO, EPA, CAMT or other industry designations • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Yardi and Paycom preferred • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and insurance • Ability to pass background check and voluntary drug testing • Strong communication skills (in‑person, phone, email, text) and teamwork orientation • Availability to work outside normal hours and on‑call as needed
