About the Role
The Consultant – Project Planner will support the preparation and management of project programmes under the guidance of a Senior Project Planner or Project Manager, collaborating closely with technical project managers, environmental and engineering disciplines, business support functions, and clients to deliver high‑standard schedules that facilitate financial and resource forecasting. This role is pivotal to the company's growth plan, aimed at building a team of planners to provide scheduling support across the Environmental Project Management portfolio. Key responsibilities include contributing to planning, scheduling, and control strategies, interfacing with international colleagues, delivering progress reports, ensuring programme consistency, offering planning advice to staff and contractors, and fostering a performance‑driven culture aligned with WSP values. • Assist in preparing and managing project programmes under senior oversight. • Collaborate with technical, environmental, engineering, and client teams to produce high‑quality schedules. • Contribute to planning, scheduling, and control strategies for assigned projects. • Translate international stakeholder requirements into accurate programmes. • Generate internal and external progress reports covering status, changes, risks, and issues. • Maintain consistency of programmes across the Environmental PM team. • Provide planning guidance to project staff, sub‑consultants, contractors, and clients. • Promote a performance culture aligned with WSP values. • Apply critical‑path analysis, earned‑value techniques, and basic project management skills. • Create Excel/Word tools and Power BI dashboards for stakeholder communications.

What You Bring
Successful candidates will have a minimum of seven years' experience in project planning and controlling, demonstrated expertise in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and related planning software, and advanced knowledge of planning philosophies, critical‑path analysis, and earned‑value techniques. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Power BI for creating tools, dashboards, and reports, together with solid commercial awareness of project management principles, is also required. • Utilize Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and other planning tools proficiently. • Bring at least seven years of relevant project planning and controlling experience. • Demonstrate strong commercial awareness of project management principles.
