About the Role
Key duties include spacing and fastening rods according to blueprints, positioning steel bars and mesh, bending and cutting rods, and assisting other craft workers. The Rodbuster also installs blocks under rebar and ensures proper placement of reinforcement fabrics. • Position and secure steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms with fasteners and hand tools • Place blocks under rebar to keep bars off the deck • Bend steel rods using hand tools and rodbending machines • Cut and fit wire mesh or fabric, positioning reinforcement in concrete • Cut rods to required lengths with metal shears, hacksaws, or bar cutters • Assist other craft workers as needed • Lift/push/pull up to 50 lb (occasionally 100 lb) and perform repetitive hand/arm tasks • Climb and balance on steel/wood frameworks, ladders, scaffolds; work on uneven, muddy, or soft surfaces • Operate electric, gas, and pneumatic hand and power tools • Work in confined spaces and adverse weather conditions • Communicate effectively with management and follow safety directions • Read, write, and perform calculations for instructions and safety policies • Maintain focus amid distractions and make sound decisions

The role requires extensive use of power tools and strict adherence to safety protocols, operating in plant operations or construction jobsite settings. The position demands physical strength to lift up to 50 lb (occasionally 100 lb), endurance for repetitive hand/arm work, and the ability to navigate uneven, muddy, or confined spaces while using hand and power tools.
