About the Role
The MEP Superintendent reports to the Group Superintendent and is responsible for managing and coordinating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. The role involves close collaboration with project managers, design teams, and trade partners to ensure systems meet industry standards, schedules, and budgets. Expertise in BIM and Autodesk tools such as Revit and Navisworks is required. Key duties include overseeing MEP field activities, coordinating with other superintendents, resolving design clashes, maintaining schedules, and ensuring compliance with codes and specifications. The superintendent also provides technical support, prepares models and documentation, and leads start‑up and commissioning activities. • Manage and oversee MEP field activities, coordinating with area superintendents for core & shell, civil, and finishes. • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to resolve clashes and optimize system integration. • Develop and maintain project schedules for MEP systems with schedulers. • Monitor project progress to ensure adherence to timelines and budgets. • Conduct clash detection with MEP coordinators/engineers to optimize layouts. • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and specifications for MEP designs and installations. • Facilitate regular coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders. • Provide technical support and guidance on MEP and BIM issues to project teams. • Prepare and maintain accurate models, drawings, and project documentation. • Create visual presentations and reports for stakeholders. • Develop detailed scope sheets outlining MEP project scope, deliverables, and trade responsibilities. • Compile bid matrices and verify complete coordination between trades. • Prepare GMP pricing and design‑build budgets as needed. • Oversee and coordinate start‑up and commissioning with third‑party or internal commissioning agents.

What You Bring
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (preferred) and have at least ten years of experience as an MEP Superintendent or in a comparable role. Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD is preferred, and familiarity with BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud is a plus. Strong problem‑solving, communication, and multitasking abilities are essential, and the role requires travel within Ohio and occasional trips to neighboring states. • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (preferred). • 10+ years experience as an MEP Superintendent or related role. • Proven track record managing MEP systems on large‑scale construction projects. • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD (preferred). • Knowledge of BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and other collaboration tools (a plus). • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills. • Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. • Willingness to travel within Ohio and occasional neighboring states, with most nights spent at home.
