About the Role
The primary objective is to lead large‑scale multidisciplinary substation projects, drive sales and business development, ensure technical correctness, on‑time delivery and target profitability, and promote cross‑selling among disciplines. The position involves overseeing project performance, financial reporting, client relations, sales management, resource control, quality assurance, and supporting the broader practice through training, recruitment and compliance with ISO 9001/14001. • Lead multidisciplinary substation projects, ensuring technical accuracy, schedule adherence, and profit targets. • Manage monthly job costing, profit and sales reporting, and present quarterly board updates. • Maintain and grow client relationships, lead presentations, negotiate fees and deliverables. • Drive business development activities, pursue sales leads, and achieve collection targets on invoices. • Oversee resource allocation, technical compliance, quality control, and sign‑off of deliverables. • Conduct project meetings, handle scope changes, and manage post‑completion reviews. • Recruit, train and develop team members, ensuring succession and engineering expertise. • Support practice management, ISO 9001/14001 quality systems, and cross‑functional initiatives. • Provide engineering design leadership and perform third‑party design audits as needed.

What You Bring
Candidates should hold a BEng/MSc in Electrical or related engineering, have at least 10‑15 years of high‑voltage substation design and project management experience, possess strong leadership, MS Office (including Project) skills and a commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture. • Demonstrate strong leadership, people management, and collaborative working skills. • Utilize MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and project/design analysis software proficiently. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 15 years of relevant experience, including 7 years of project management.
