About the Role
The AECOM US+LATAM Energy practice is seeking a Process Chief Engineer to lead the Process Engineering team within the Industrial and Generation department. The role focuses on refinery, NGL and petrochemical processes, ensuring high‑quality engineering deliverables, supporting business development, and shaping the strategic direction of the I&G process engineering capability. The position encompasses general management, resource coordination, career development, quality assurance, and business development. Responsibilities include supervising the team, promoting safety, balancing workloads, hiring and onboarding staff, implementing continuous‑improvement practices, maintaining compliance with QA/QC standards, and contributing to proposals and budget development. • Supervise and mentor all process engineering team members. • Promote safety culture and ensure completion of required health & safety training. • Approve team timesheets and manage billable hours to meet growth targets. • Identify staffing needs, balance workloads, and coordinate hiring and onboarding. • Allocate resources and adjust schedules to align project requirements with available capacity. • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives for engineering processes. • Ensure compliance with AECOM QA/QC standards and conduct detailed project reviews. • Support business development by creating execution plans and detailed scopes of work for proposals. • Prepare budgets by estimating man‑hours and work items for process tasks. • Conduct performance reviews, provide career development guidance, and identify training opportunities. • Lead identification and mitigation of change‑order impacts and lessons‑learned actions.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a BA/BS in engineering with at least ten years of relevant experience in industrial, refinery or power facilities. Preferred qualifications include five years of team supervision, PE licensure, extensive experience with process simulation tools (Aspen/HYSYS, Arrow, etc.), leadership on refinery/NGL projects, and a strong record in resource planning, EPC delivery, and business development. • Require BA/BS in engineering plus 10 + years relevant industrial, refinery or power experience. • Minimum 5 + years supervising technical teams; PE licensure preferred. • Demonstrated expertise with Aspen/HYSYS, Arrow, Fathom, Promax, Pipe‑flo and HAZOP studies. • Proven track record as technical lead on refinery or NGL projects (7 + years). • Experience in full EPC, design‑build, and international work‑share environments. • Strong background in resource planning, labor forecasting and cost estimating. • Proficient in 3D model platforms such as Plant 3D and Navisworks.

Benefits
The role is based in Houston, TX, with a hybrid work model and a compensation range of $190,000–$235,000. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement plans, flexible work options, and professional development programs. Relocation and visa sponsorship are not available.
