About the Role

Key responsibilities include reading plans to determine scope of work, identifying required tools and safety precautions, measuring, marking, and cutting wood or metal to specifications, and constructing, reinforcing, and dismantling concrete forms. The role also involves building wooden forms and structures such as decks, steps, and bulletin boards, maintaining clean work areas, and assisting other trades with additional duties as needed. Although the role has no direct reports, it may occasionally oversee helpers and laborers, exercising positional and expertise authority over them. • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans. • Identify and gather all tools and materials required for tasks. • Assess safety risks and implement necessary precautions. • Measure, mark, and cut wood or metal to required specifications. • Construct, reinforce, and dismantle pre‑constructed concrete forms. • Build wooden forms and structures such as decks, steps, and bulletin boards. • Perform cleanup and housekeeping of work areas. • Maintain knowledge of materials, tools, and basic building techniques. • Commit to full work schedules and overtime when required. • Follow all company, site, and safety regulations consistently. • Work at heights, ladders, and scaffolding with appropriate fall protection.

What You Bring

The carpenter must be able to read blueprints, sketches, and building plans, possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities, and have experience on industrial construction projects. They must meet all physical requirements, own required tools, have reliable transportation, and follow all safety rules and regulations while wearing appropriate PPE in all weather conditions. Applicants need a minimum of four years of experience as a carpenter or carpenter helper on industrial projects, proficiency in blueprint reading, and solid knowledge of materials, tools, and basic building techniques. They must be capable of basic arithmetic, precise measurement, and cutting tasks, and be willing to work full schedules with overtime while adhering to all company and site safety regulations. The position requires extensive physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lb, and working at heights with fall protection. Communication, hand and arm usage, and consistent use of PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, respirators, high‑visibility vests, gloves, and steel‑toed boots are mandatory.
