About the Role

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections and repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment such as trucks, aerial devices, digger‑derricks, manlifts and forklifts. • Travel throughout the province and provide temporary support to other locations when required. • Participate in rotational after‑hours shifts as needed. • Complete regulatory, on‑the‑job and skill‑development training programs. • Observe and enforce occupational health, safety and environmental regulations. • Manage multiple tasks and demands efficiently. • Occasionally lift up to 65 lb from floor to waist and carry loads up to 65 lb, with occasional pushes or pulls up to 100 lb. • Participate in community engagement initiatives, mentoring, volunteering and scholarship programs.

What You Bring

• Comply with Emera’s alcohol and drug policy, including a confidential pre‑employment test. • Hold an Inter‑Provincial Red Seal Journeyperson (Truck & Transport) certificate with at least two years of experience. • Possess a valid Class 3 Nova Scotia driver’s licence and a satisfactory driver’s abstract. • Apply hydraulic knowledge; CUFC Utility Fleet Equipment Mechanic or Fluid Power certification is an asset. • Demonstrate strong mechanical proficiency and problem‑resolution abilities. • Exhibit teamwork, excellent interpersonal communication and computer aptitude. • If hired as an apprentice, complete required papers and skills to obtain journeyperson status within the specified timeframe. • Perform frequent standing, walking, reaching, and fine‑motor tasks, as well as occasional climbing, bending and squatting.
