About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of small water treatment plants within a single Defence base. This includes monitoring and reporting water quality, conducting routine inspections, sampling and testing, and adjusting chemical dosing under supervision. Basic preventative maintenance on plant equipment and reporting any faults to the Leading Hand are also key duties. • Operate and maintain small water treatment plants at a Defence base. • Monitor, sample, test, and report water quality. • Adjust chemical dosing and treatment processes under supervision. • Perform basic preventative maintenance on plant equipment. • Report equipment faults or failures to the Leading Hand.

What You Bring

Applicants must hold a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations and an NSW Water Operator Certification. Relevant experience in water treatment plant operations, chemical handling and dosing is required, while additional certifications such as Chemical Handling, Confined Space, Working at Heights and a White Card are desirable. A current open driver’s licence, Australian citizenship for Defence Security Clearance, and a strong work ethic are also essential. • Certificate III in Water Industry Operations (required). • NSW Water Operator Certification. • Chemical Handling Certification and Confined Space, Working at Heights, White Card (desirable). • Current open driver’s licence and Australian citizenship for Defence Security Clearance. • Experience in water treatment plant operations and chemical handling/dosing.
