About the Role
All drivers must operate vehicles in compliance with WM Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, DOT, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. They conduct pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, document findings on the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report, and promptly report unsafe conditions, incidents, or service interruptions. Participation in scheduled training, briefings, and meetings is required, as is collaboration with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency and address customer requests. Drivers complete end‑of‑day documentation, maintain clean work sites, and assist fellow drivers as directed. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks with appropriate lift attachments and transport waste to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Report documentation. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, and service interruptions to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Follow safety regulations (WM Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, DOT) and all applicable laws. • Attend required training, briefings, and meetings. • Communicate customer requests and ensure clean completion of loading/unloading tasks. • Adhere to route assignments, complete end‑of‑day documentation, and assist other drivers as needed.

Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable containers that can exceed 1,000 lb. Commercial drivers handle pick‑up services, navigating high‑traffic roads, driveways, and alleys, while residential drivers collect household waste in residential settings. Roll‑off drivers load and move large open‑top or compactor containers, often working in tight overhead industrial environments. Skilled backing maneuvers are essential across all driver roles. Applicants must have at least one year of experience operating a CDL‑required vehicle or equivalent military driving within the past seven years, be at least 18 years old, and possess legal eligibility to work in the country. A valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License with an air‑brake endorsement is required. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The role involves various physical activities such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing, with reasonable accommodations provided as needed. • Required: Minimum 1 year operating a CDL vehicle or equivalent military driving within the last 7 years; at least 18 years old; legal work eligibility; Class A or B CDL with air‑brake endorsement. • Preferred: High school diploma or GED. • Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing.
