Job Highlights
About the Role
The Scale House Operator serves as the first point of contact for customers depositing waste at a WM facility, calculates payments, checks loads, and ensures safety for customers and employees by following safety rules and regulations. • Greet customers, direct traffic, and answer questions accurately. • Calculate customer payments correctly. • Verify that incoming garbage loads are safe and free of prohibited material. • Enforce safety protocols and required PPE for customers and employees. • Maintain the Scale House in good condition. • Complete administrative tasks, including filing and required reports. • Inform supervisor of problems or matters needing attention. • Attend company‑sponsored training and meetings as directed. • Perform additional duties such as data entry and minor customer service tasks. • Interact with employees, customers, and vendors in a friendly, service‑oriented manner.
