About the Role

In this high‑impact leadership role you will shape the quality, reliability and performance of Hitachi Energy’s global supply base. You will guide a team of supplier‑quality professionals, elevate supplier capabilities and drive excellence across a technology‑driven environment, ultimately ensuring that materials and components meet the highest standards. Key responsibilities include leading and mentoring a high‑performing supplier quality team, defining and executing a global supplier quality strategy, overseeing supplier qualification, audits and comprehensive risk assessments, and monitoring supplier KPIs while driving root‑cause analysis and corrective actions. You will identify and mitigate supply‑chain quality risks, collaborate closely with R&D, Procurement, Production and other partners, champion continuous improvement using Lean Six Sigma, and present performance insights to senior leaders and suppliers. • Lead and develop a high‑performing supplier quality team. • Define and implement a global supplier quality strategy aligned with standards. • Oversee supplier qualification, audits, and comprehensive risk assessments. • Monitor supplier KPIs and drive root‑cause analysis with corrective actions. • Identify and mitigate supply‑chain quality risks. • Collaborate with R&D, Procurement, Production and other internal partners. • Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies for continuous improvement. • Present supplier performance insights to senior leadership and suppliers.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or a related technical field (master’s degree a plus), with 8‑10 years of supplier quality or quality engineering experience and 3‑5 years of leadership experience. Preferred qualifications include ASQ certifications such as CQE, CQA or CMQ/OE, strong knowledge of QMS standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, ISO 13485) and proficiency with quality tools like FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, APQP, 8D and Lean Six Sigma. The role requires 25‑35 % travel domestically and internationally. • Require BS in Engineering, Supply Chain or related field; MS preferred. • Require 8‑10 years of supplier quality or quality engineering experience. • Require 3‑5 years of leadership experience managing quality‑focused teams. • Preferred ASQ certifications: CQE, CQA, CMQ/OE. • Proficient with QMS standards: ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, ISO 13485. • Skilled in quality tools: FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, APQP, 8D, Lean Six Sigma. • Travel requirement: 25‑35 % domestic and international.
