About the Role

The Software Product Manager leads the direction of software components that power MiTek’s automated machinery. Based in Earth City, MO, the role works hands‑on with MiTek’s Automated Solutions to ensure software integrates correctly across various machinery products. The manager collaborates with multiple groups and stakeholders on short‑ and long‑term planning for both existing and new machinery software. The manager writes operational requirements, designs, documents, and verifies software features, and provides technical support and training for new functionality. They also engage directly with customers to identify market needs, conduct research, and assess the competitive environment. As an active member of an Agile Scrum team, the manager contributes to the software development process and participates in risk‑assessment decisions alongside project managers, developers, QA managers, and the Product Portfolio Manager for Automated Machinery Solutions. • Capture customer needs through user stories and requirements • Collaborate with development teams to deliver solutions on schedule • Actively manage product and project backlogs • Lead customer discovery and exchange sessions • Follow MiTek’s established software development best practices • Lead software implementation activities • Stay current with software technologies and standards • Communicate project status and milestone progress to stakeholders • Drive project timelines and ensure key deliveries

What You Bring

• Demonstrate deep industry knowledge related to product responsibilities • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field • Minimum 2 years of product management methodology experience • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications • Excellent planning, communication, presentation, and collaboration skills • Ability to clarify and prioritize competing customer needs • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with data‑driven decision making • Skilled at building relationships with diverse personality types • Effective communication with stakeholders and clients • Experience with production/machinery software for wood component manufacturers or with HMI and process control systems • Experience in a software development environment or familiarity with the SDLC
