About the Role
The successful candidate will rigorously apply safety policies, manage technical, cost, and schedule elements of project delivery, and ensure high‑quality field efforts and deliverables within the AECOM Quality Management System. • Collaborate with Remediation team Project Managers and professionals across AECOM business lines. • Serve as Engineer of Record, signing reports, drawing sets, technical specifications, and regulator application forms. • Act as Senior Project Engineer, delivering technical design, schedule, client liaison, reporting, and coordination for projects of varying complexity. • Prepare designs, reports, specifications, and cost estimates for civil and environmental remediation projects, including excavation, landfill design, dewatering, water treatment, stormwater management, site restoration, permitting, and municipal site plans. • Utilize CAD applications, preferably Autodesk Civil 3D, to produce technical documents. • Identify opportunities to increase project efficiency, improve methodologies, and add value to client services. • Mentor junior and mid‑level staff and certify staff for the Principles and Practice of Engineering exam.

What You Bring
AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer III for the Remediation team in Raleigh, NC. The candidate will lead and support environmental remediation and coal ash closure projects, building strong relationships with the team and clients to pursue new opportunities. Effective communication with project teams, clients, site personnel, and office management is essential, as is the ability to work independently or as part of a team. • BA/BS in Civil Engineering with 4+ years of related experience or equivalent. • Valid U.S. driver’s license and successful completion of AECOM’s motor vehicle records review. • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (preferred). • 5+ years of relevant experience at an engineering consulting firm (preferred). • Proven ability to proactively lead technical efforts and project teams (preferred). • Experience as Senior Project Engineer on large‑scale projects such as landfills, excavation, dewatering, and coal ash closure (preferred). • OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification (preferred).
