About the Role
The Senior Project Manager role supports clients in transitioning to a low‑carbon energy future, operating in a fast‑paced environment that bridges Turner & Townsend, sub‑consultants and client organisations. The position oversees management and administration of major national infrastructure frameworks and contributes to strategic projects from concept through design and construction. Candidates need a strong cross‑functional project and contract management background with proven delivery of large, complex infrastructure programmes. Key responsibilities include managing a diverse portfolio of energy and utilities projects, ensuring technical engineering, planning, consent, environmental and commercial aspects are integrated. The role requires proactive stakeholder communication, rapid adaptation to changing requirements, and decisive issue analysis to keep projects on track. Effective project controls, quality assurance of deliverables, and regular reporting to senior management are also essential. • Manage a diverse portfolio of energy/utilities projects across a large national framework. • Oversee technical engineering, planning/consenting, environmental, and cost/commercial aspects. • Lead stakeholder communication with clients, sub‑consultants and internal teams. • Identify and analyse issues, making informed decisions to drive delivery. • Implement project controls for budget, schedule, scope, quality, risk and performance. • Review and quality‑assure milestone deliverables. • Report and present project status to senior management. • Lead and motivate project team members toward clear goals.

What You Bring
Applicants should have 10+ years of experience in construction, energy or engineering, with expertise in power‑system utilities and a thorough understanding of engineering, permitting and commercial delivery. Strong communication, commercial awareness, team leadership and PMP certification are required, along with a clean driver’s licence. Desirable qualifications include energy‑efficiency or renewable‑energy credentials and experience with electricity transmission networks. • Adapt quickly to changing project and business requirements. • Thrive in a fast‑paced, highly collaborative environment. • 10+ years experience in construction, energy or engineering sectors. • Expertise in power‑system utilities and project delivery. • Strong understanding of engineering, planning/consenting, environmental and commercial dimensions. • Excellent communication skills, translating technical concepts for non‑technical audiences. • Commercial awareness with solid decision‑making capability. • Proven ability to manage teams and interface between project teams and client representatives. • Recognised Project Management Professional (PMP) qualification. • Full, clean driver’s licence. • Desirable: qualification in energy efficiency or renewable energy. • Desirable: experience delivering energy infrastructure projects. • Desirable: knowledge of electricity transmission network operations.
