About the Role
The Custodian role at Cushman & Wakefield involves coordinating, scheduling, and supervising building/facility cleaning staff to maintain clean and orderly interiors and, when needed, oversee exterior grounds maintenance. The position requires assigning daily cleaning tasks, inspecting work quality, managing supplies and inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures and proper use of equipment and chemicals. The custodian may also be involved in hiring, training, performance reviews, and reporting on staff hours, assignments, and departmental expenses, as well as handling minor repairs and assisting with tenant moves. • Supervise, schedule, and assign cleaning staff for interior building cleaning tasks. • Assign tasks, inspect work, issue supplies, and manage inventory. • Participate in hiring, training, performance reviews, and recommend promotions or dismissals. • Prepare and present reports on room occupancy, staff hours, assignments, tasks, and expenses. • Supervise exterior cleaning, snow removal, and basic maintenance of grounds and structures. • Assign staff for minor repairs such as painting, lighting, window replacement, furniture moves, and simple plumbing. • Perform additional duties like landscaping, outdoor furnishing maintenance, inventory control, and tenant move assistance. • Respond promptly to spills, emergencies, and report safety or maintenance issues. • Ensure safe operation and training on cleaning and snow removal equipment and chemicals. • Maintain Safety Data Sheets, train staff on hazard communication, and dispose of chemicals responsibly. • Maintain thoroughness in tasks. • Collaborate effectively with team members.

What You Bring
Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of related experience (preferably at a supervisory level), basic mechanical knowledge, and strong proficiency with MS Office and work‑order systems; key competencies include organization, communication, flexibility, detail orientation, thoroughness, collaboration, and results orientation. • Demonstrate strong organization skills. • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. • Adapt flexibly to changing priorities. • Pay close attention to detail. • Hold a high school diploma or GED (preferred). • Minimum two years of related experience, preferably supervisory. • Possess basic mechanical knowledge and proficiency with MS Office and work order systems. • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and coordinate work orders.
