About the Role

The role involves developing process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) that meet industry standards, performing process simulations and calculations to optimize designs, and conducting heat and material balance calculations while preparing datasheets for equipment and instruments. The engineer will assist in selecting pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, separators, and other process equipment, ensure compliance with ASME, API, ISO and related codes, collaborate with instrumentation, piping and mechanical engineers for design consistency, participate in HAZOP, HAZID and risk assessments, review vendor drawings and technical documents, and provide technical support throughout procurement, fabrication, and construction phases. • Develop PFDs and P&IDs in compliance with industry standards. • Perform process simulations and calculations to optimize system design. • Conduct heat and material balance calculations and prepare process datasheets for equipment and instruments. • Assist in the design and selection of pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, separators, and other process equipment. • Ensure compliance with ASME, API, ISO, and other industry standards. • Work with instrumentation, piping, and mechanical engineers to ensure design consistency. • Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, and risk assessment studies. • Review vendor drawings and technical documents to ensure alignment with project requirements. • Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, and construction phases.

What You Bring

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical or process engineering, be proficient with P&ID design software such as AutoCAD, Smart Plant P&ID or AVEVA Diagrams, have experience using process simulation tools like Aspen HYSYS, PRO‑II or UniSim, possess strong knowledge of piping systems, valves, instrumentation and safety systems, be familiar with industry codes (API, ASME, ANSI, IEC, NFPA), demonstrate excellent problem‑solving, teamwork and communication skills, and ideally have experience in offshore/onshore oil & gas facilities, process safety compliance, P&ID revision control, or exposure to LNG, refining, petrochemical or pipeline projects. • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering. • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Smart Plant P&ID, AVEVA Diagrams, or similar P&ID design software. • Experience with process simulation tools (Aspen HYSYS, PRO‑II, UniSim, etc.). • Strong knowledge of piping systems, valves, instrumentation, and safety systems. • Familiarity with industry codes and standards (API, ASME, ANSI, IEC, NFPA, etc.). • Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a team environment. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Experience in offshore and onshore oil & gas facilities. • Knowledge of process safety and regulatory compliance. • Hands‑on experience with P&ID revision control and management systems. • Exposure to LNG, refining, petrochemical, or pipeline projects.
