About the Role

• Operate cleaning machinery. • Perform mopping, vacuuming, wiping, sweeping and other thorough cleaning activities. • Clean toilets, surfaces, ceilings, windows and oven canopies inside the store. • Maintain external trolley bays free of leaves and debris. • Apply all health and safety procedures. • Provide a smartphone with NFC capability for the Arcus Connect app.

What You Bring

At Arcus, cleaners are a vital part of our company, and we are looking to recruit a part‑time In‑store Cleaner based in Sainsbury's Heaton Newcastle store on a fixed‑term basis. The role is 16 hours per week with an hourly rate of £12.21 and an immediate start is available. Arcus cleaners take pride in keeping Sainsbury’s supermarkets clean and safe for customers. Cleaners complete daily cleaning tasks to maintain the highest standards, operating machinery and performing thorough cleaning such as mopping, vacuuming, wiping, and sweeping. Tasks may include cleaning toilets, surfaces, ceilings, windows, oven canopies, and maintaining external trolley bays free of debris, while adhering to health and safety procedures. Full training is provided. Previous cleaning experience is beneficial but not essential, as on‑the‑job training will be supplied. Candidates should have an eye for detail, a positive attitude to cleaning and customer service, and must provide a smartphone with NFC capability to use the Arcus Connect app for time and attendance. • Demonstrate attention to detail and a positive attitude toward cleaning and customer service.

Sainsbury’s stores are open 7 days a week and Arcus offers various shift patterns with 5‑ and 6‑day working options, including early morning, morning, afternoon and evening shifts with weekend work. The current schedule for this role is Sunday 05:00‑08:00, Monday 05:00‑08:00, Thursday 05:00‑08:00, Friday 05:00‑08:00 and Saturday 04:00‑08:00, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off. Overtime opportunities may increase hours.
