About the Role

The Gas Skilled Laborer/Groundman supports the crew by assisting with the installation and repair of gas lines, gathering and distributing materials, hand‑locating utilities, hand‑grading landscape areas, safely operating equipment such as backhoes, skid steers, directional drills, trenchers, and paving machines, and lifting heavy natural‑gas pipelines when needed. Additional duties may be assigned as required. • Assist crew with gas line installation and repair • Gather and distribute daily job materials • Hand‑locate existing utilities and hand‑grade landscaping • Safely operate equipment such as backhoes, skid steers, directional drills, trenchers, and paving machines • Use equipment to support ditch digging for gas mains • Lift and position heavy natural‑gas pipelines as needed

What You Bring

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of gas utility construction experience; preferred qualifications are two or more years of relevant experience. The role is physically demanding, requiring extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 50 lb), and working in inclement weather. Employees must have clear vision at 20 feet (or 20 inches), precise hand‑eye coordination, and the ability to distinguish colors. • Minimum: high school diploma/GED and 1 year gas utility construction experience • Preferred: 2+ years gas utility construction experience
