About the Role
The position works Monday‑Friday afternoons at our Waterloo Hauling Site’s repair and maintenance shop, providing consistent hours for work‑life balance. Each day you’ll service trucks and equipment that serve over 20 million North American customers, using modern tools on diesel and, at some sites, CNG trucks. Your work ensures community support and allows you to take pride in vehicles leaving the shop. • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on various vehicles. • Estimate time and material costs for repairs and new parts. • Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs). • Respond to emergency service calls and breakdowns. • Conduct safety checks on vehicles. • Complete paperwork documenting parts usage and repair times. • Assist senior mechanics on project work. • Review and address repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. • Maintain a clean, safe work area complying with corporate and OSHA standards.

What You Bring
• Hold a valid 310T Mechanic licence. • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience. • Valid driver’s licence with an acceptable driving record. • Be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in Canada. • Ability to meet physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation. • Pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical examination. • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively. • Determined problem‑solver. • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, climbing; constant standing, walking, grasping. • Exposure to cuts, burns, toxic chemicals, dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes. • Work both inside garage/shop and outdoors in inclement conditions.
