About the Role
Field Performance Technicians manage, schedule, and complete all service and warranty work for residential solar installations. They work both independently and as part of the Performance O&M team, interacting closely with customers, branch managers, senior electrical foremen, construction supervisors, and the centralized scheduling team. • Troubleshoot and resolve solar warranty and service issues for modules, inverters, monitoring, and balance‑of‑system components. • Investigate, document, and mitigate roof leaks using checklists, photos, and written observations. • Coordinate with construction supervisors, engineering, and the senior electrical foreman to resolve redline and installation issues. • Receive, update, and complete field service dispatches in Salesforce Service Dashboard. • Ensure timely, safe, high‑quality service completion with focus on customer satisfaction. • Develop and refine service processes and technical skills for residential PV systems. • Organize and maintain the warranty and service schedule; allocate labor resources as needed. • Lead training sessions, regular meetings, and onboarding for field service and communications technicians. • Exceed key performance indicators such as turnaround time, experience rating, and dispatch volume. • Perform inspections and site audits when assigned. • Apply NEC codes and interpret single‑line drawings and PV system designs. • Adhere to company safety policies, identify hazards, and promote safe work practices.

What You Bring
The technician performs advanced troubleshooting and complex service diagnoses, and is also responsible for training and developing other team members. This role requires a state‑mandated electrical certification and a valid Journeyman/Electrician license. Successful candidates possess strong knowledge of the NEC and applicable codes, can interpret single‑line drawings, and understand PV system interconnection principles. They demonstrate motivated teamwork, excellent customer service, effective communication, organizational efficiency, and a commitment to safety on rooftops and in varied weather conditions. The position demands physical stamina to lift up to 50 lb regularly, climb ladders, and work on rooftops, in attics, basements, and confined spaces, while adhering to all safety protocols and personal protective equipment requirements. • Hold a valid Journeyman/Electrician license or equivalent per state requirements. • Deliver excellent customer service and clear verbal and written communication. • Demonstrate strong problem‑solving, decision‑making, and ownership of issues. • Physically lift up to 50 lb (up to 100 lb with assistance), climb ladders, and work on rooftops in various weather conditions.
