About the Role

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in materials engineering, preferably on airport, airfield, or large‑scale infrastructure projects, and will be responsible for reviewing submittals, ensuring compliance with ICAO/FAA and ASTM/AASHTO standards, coordinating testing, approving mix designs, and maintaining documentation. • Review and process material submittals according to project specifications and approved standards. • Ensure all construction materials comply with ICAO/FAA, local aviation authority, ASTM, and AASHTO requirements. • Coordinate material approvals with consultants, contractors, and suppliers. • Manage field and laboratory testing for soils, aggregates, asphalt, concrete, and other civil materials. • Review test results and verify compliance with approved mix designs and specifications. • Identify non‑conforming materials and support corrective and preventive actions. • Approve concrete and asphalt mix designs in collaboration with QA/QC teams. • Monitor batching plant operations to maintain consistency with approved designs. • Support trial mixes, mock‑ups, and pre‑production testing activities. • Liaise with site engineers and construction teams regarding material usage and availability. • Maintain material tracking logs, test registers, and approval records. • Prepare technical reports, material compliance summaries, and regular project updates. • Ensure material handling, storage, and testing comply with HSE and environmental standards. • Promote sustainable material practices and waste‑reduction initiatives.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline. • Minimum five years of experience in materials engineering or quality control, preferably on airport, airfield, runway, or highway projects. • Strong knowledge of construction materials such as soil, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete. • Familiarity with ASTM, AASHTO, BS, and aviation‑related material standards. • Proficiency in laboratory and field testing procedures and data analysis. • Ability to identify trends and compliance issues from test data. • Experience with airfield pavement materials and high‑performance concrete. • Knowledge of asphalt and concrete plant operations. • Understanding of QA/QC documentation, ITPs, and NCR processes. • Experience with document control systems (e.g., Aconex) and technical reporting. • Certification in materials testing or quality management is a plus.
