About the Role
The UK Power Business Development Manager will lead the identification and development of growth opportunities for Centrica’s power business through acquisitions, organic development and partnerships. The role is central to building a pipeline that aligns with the Power strategy and investment criteria, and will involve regular interaction with teams in Windsor and London. The position requires establishing a structured approach to assess and develop investment opportunities, setting clear targets, and using market intelligence, technology trends and policy developments to guide decisions. It also involves coordinating internal and external inputs for valuation, managing joint‑venture relationships, and overseeing due‑diligence for acquisitions and new technologies. • Assess and develop power investment opportunities using market intelligence and technology trends. • Set targets and deliverables for the development function aligned with Centrica’s Power strategy. • Coordinate internal and external inputs for valuation and commercial assessment of investments. • Manage joint‑venture and partnership relationships to advance development projects. • Lead due‑diligence for acquisitions, new developments, joint ventures and emerging technologies. • Oversee pipeline governance to ensure timely decisions and robust risk management. • Build and maintain complex stakeholder relationships across Commercial, Finance, Trading, Legal and Technical teams. • Promote continuous learning, proactive problem‑solving and collaborative working. • Provide the UK’s leading Carers Policy and wellbeing initiatives. • Foster an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and supports employee wellbeing.

What You Bring
Ideal candidates have proven experience in energy infrastructure development, a strong grasp of electricity market structures and regulatory frameworks, and expertise in business development, commercial strategy or investment analysis. They should possess deep knowledge of energy policy, emerging technologies such as storage, hydrogen and onshore/offshore wind, and the ability to translate insights into actionable commercial strategies. • Apply deep knowledge of electricity market structures, regulatory frameworks and energy policy. • Demonstrate expertise in business case development, investment analysis and commercial strategy for both early‑stage and operational assets. • Communicate complex information clearly to achieve cross‑functional alignment.
