About the Role
• Build project estimates and perform quantity take‑offs. • Obtain bids and time projections from trade partners and prepare proposal comparisons. • Prepare and coordinate RFP documents and schedules, estimating contractor items as needed. • Determine pricing options and appropriate project prices. • Support lead estimator with estimating software data entry. • Archive filing and gather historical cost data. • Participate in plan, estimate, and project review meetings and site investigations. • Collect information from government and private entities regarding permits and hearings. • Manage addendum logs and client documents. • Mentor new estimators and engineers; provide training to interns. • Solicit new bidders and compile documentation for future projects.

What You Bring
Mortenson is seeking an Estimator I for its Energy Storage Group. The role involves gathering, calculating, and compiling data to produce project estimates, with full estimate preparation for smaller projects. Strong communication, integrity, confidentiality and efficiency are essential. • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience. • Minimum one year of construction operations experience, including materials management. • Valid driver’s license. • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks. • Proficient in mathematical calculations. • Experience with estimating software (ISqFt, ICE/Bid2Win, OST, Bluebeam, Google Earth). • Positive attitude, strong customer service and communication skills. • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies.

Benefits
The position offers a base salary ranging from $78,800 to $98,500, with higher ranges in certain locations, and eligibility for Mortenson’s incentive plan. Compensation is positioned based on knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity.
