About the Role

The successful candidate will maintain the cleanliness, hygiene and safety of assigned buildings and surrounding grounds, including classrooms, corridors, offices, leisure centre facilities and communal areas. Key duties include routine cleaning such as hoovering, mopping, dusting and sanitising surfaces, operating floor scrubbers and carpet cleaners safely, restocking supplies, disposing of waste according to site procedures, reporting maintenance issues, following cleaning schedules and complying with health‑and‑safety regulations including COSHH, and performing deep‑cleaning during school holidays. • Clean school classrooms, corridors, offices, and communal areas to a high standard. • Maintain leisure centre facilities, including pool changing rooms, showers, and reception areas. • Perform routine cleaning tasks: hoovering, mopping, dusting, and sanitising surfaces. • Operate floor scrubbers and carpet cleaners safely and effectively. • Replenish cleaning supplies, soap dispensers, toilet rolls, and paper towels as needed. • Dispose of waste and recycling following site procedures and environmental standards. • Report maintenance issues, hazards, or damage to the supervisor promptly. • Follow cleaning schedules and specifications set by supervisors or site managers. • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including COSHH guidelines. • Carry out deep‑cleaning tasks during school holidays or scheduled closures.

Mears FM is seeking a Cleaner for a permanent part‑time role in Portree, offering up to £24,420.50 per annum for 32.5 hours per week (Monday‑Friday, 4 pm‑11 pm).
